Les lignes a\u00e9riennes de distribution sont \u00e9videmment beaucoup plus proches des incendies que les lignes de transmission et souffrent donc beaucoup plus des dommages caus\u00e9s par la chaleur. Les poteaux en bois sont clairement identifi\u00e9s comme un maillon faible dans de telles circonstances, mais les isolateurs peuvent \u00e9galement devenir des \u00e9l\u00e9ments critiques. M\u00eame pour les lignes de transmission, l&rsquo;impact thermique peut \u00eatre important mais pas n\u00e9cessairement imm\u00e9diatement visible \u00e0 court terme. <strong>Certaines caract\u00e9ristiques physiques sp\u00e9cifiques des isolateurs de ligne a\u00e9rienne doivent \u00eatre clairement identifi\u00e9es et prises en consid\u00e9ration soit pour \u00e9valuer le risque de chute de ligne pendant l&rsquo;incendie, soit des ann\u00e9es plus tard en raison d&rsquo;un affaiblissement des isolateurs qui ont surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 l&rsquo;incendie en premier lieu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un autre aspect de ce probl\u00e8me consiste \u00e0 <strong>\u00e9valuer le risque que les isolateurs soient une menace d\u00e9clenchant des incendies<\/strong> (un jour normal). Les d\u00e9faillances de l&rsquo;isolateur peuvent entra\u00eener des chutes de ligne et d\u00e9clencher par la suite des incendies et des situations catastrophiques.
