SEDIVER, a Blackstone portfolio company and the world’s leader in toughened glass insulator technology, has signed a contract with the SORG Group for the supply of a new fully electric VSM furnace and an upgraded batch plant at its Nusco site in southern Italy. Installation is planned in 2027 and represents the largest single industrial investments in the plant’s history.
The new furnace will deliver higher productivity and improved glass melting technology, enabling SEDIVER to meet accelerating global demand for high-voltage, toughened glass insulators. The double-digit investment is also connected with a comprehensive upgrade of the glass production machinery and plant electric infrastructure, ensuring that the entire manufacturing process is modernized in line with the new furnace generation.
