SEDIVER expands toughened glass insulator production in Duchcov to meet growing customer demand
Duchcov, Czech Republic – 15 September 2026
SEDIVER, a Blackstone portfolio company and the world leader in toughened glass insulator technology, today announced the successful launch of the first glass insulator production line at its Duchcov site in the Czech Republic. The line was commissioned in July 2026 and is already delivering SEDIVER quality glass shells to assembly plants in Nusco, Italy, and West Memphis, United States.
The milestone is part of SEDIVER’s broader industrial strategy to expand capacity in response to strong and growing demand from utilities and other customers worldwide. The new line strengthens SEDIVER’s global manufacturing network and increases flexibility in serving customers across Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia.
Further investment to build a major production hub
SEDIVER also confirmed the next phase of investment in Duchcov, including a second production line for toughened glass insulators. Together, in their final stage, these two production lines have a total target glass production capacity of >100 tons per day. The investments will further reinforce SEDIVER’s ability to respond to customer demand while maintaining the quality, reliability and technological performance expected from its products.
The transformation of the Duchcov site is strongly supported by the Czech public authorities. On 15 July 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved an investment incentive for Seves Glass Block’s project, “Introduction of the production of high-voltage glass insulators at Seves Glass Block s.r.o.”, following assessment involving the Ministry of Finance and other authorities through CzechInvest. Securing this approval is an exceptional achievement, reflecting the scale, higher added-value and long-term regional economic contribution of SEDIVER’s investment program.
Partnership with the City of Duchcov
The long-term development of the site is supported also by close cooperation between SEDIVER and the City of Duchcov. This cooperation was formalized today through the signing of a collaboration agreement between Seves Glass Block s.r.o. and the City of Duchcov. The agreement establishes a framework for coordination on the planned industrial development, related infrastructure and transport connections, supporting the sustainable integration of the project into the local community.
